Tedesco~Rosa started as an experiment to design a custom dining table to coorindate with the style of our 150+ year old Italianate home … traditional, formidable and grand on the outside, contemporary, open, and simple on the inside.

The dining room was our inspiration with its original hardwood floors and metal hardware found in the doors. We turned our dining room into a laboratory — experimenting with different designs, colors, materials, parts, angles and preferences.

Let us introduce ourselves

We are Amee and Greg Kent and reside in Louisville, Kentucky. We’re celebrating 19 years of marriage (in November of this year). We have four children ages 16, 15, 13 and 10 and a rescue dog named Diesel. Life is just a bit hectic under our roof.

Urban and historic influences

When we moved from Chicago to Louisville (Greg’s hometown), we searched in the Cherokee Triangle neighborhood for its urban appeal and chose our historic home for its Italian characteristics.

Our home features an open layout, high ceilings and a unique limestone facade that was added on to the original exterior in 1929 by the second owner, an Italian commerce trader.

The story behind the name

Tedesco is the maiden name of Greg’s grandmother, who was a first generation Italian immigrant from Sicily. Rosa is from both our grandmother’s – Rosella (Greg) and Rosalie (Amee).

We deeply appreciate our ancestors’ influence on our family values, work ethic, and perseverance. Eating, socializing, telling stories and celebrating around the dining table was an important part of our childhood experiences.
