Our idea to create a furniture company centered around the design process – how to design furniture that enhances your overall dining experience. Our designs are an expression of our passion for the materials, style, function, and customer satisfaction.
We have spent two years fine tuning every detail of the dining table and chairs including the quality of the walnut, curve and height of the chairs, adding a “handle” to the chair and creating a customer care kit.
The Tedesco~Rosa dining experience is four dimensional … Build, Product, Shipping and Simple Assembly.
1) Design for Build
Our dining area was used as a lab to design and build our table, chair, bench and accessories. We personally experienced the simplicity or complexity with any particular design option in the beginning. Such as the need for adjustable feet due to uneven hardwood floors.
Now, we strive for simplicity in the build, which results in a streamlined appearance, fewer hand-built errors and faster turn-around.
2) Design for Product
We designed a product to enhance your everyday experience. Most daily activities take place around the dining table. We want the heart of your home to feel inviting, comfortable and inspiring.
We focused on 6 key design features …
- The beveled edge of the table softens the design and allows you to pull up closer.
- The exquisite wood grain finish can never be matched by mass-manufactured MDF or veneer.
- Pick your posture position with the adjustable chair back.
- We added a handle in the carbon steel chair back for easier movement.
- Use the adjustable feet to adapt to a growing family and variable floors.
- A customer care kit to ensure your dining furniture lasts a lifetime.
3) Design for Shipping
In Greg’s prior experience with suppling raw materials to IKEA, visiting their facilities and understanding their requirements, he gained an appreciation of the details needed to effectively flat pack furniture to reduce shipping costs, shipping materials, damage and cubic space.
IKEA did not invent the flatpack concept but they did modernize it for their customer assembly business model.
Attention to shipping details also helps on the environment, too!
4) Design for Simple Assembly
Based on Greg’s experience with IKEA plus our own personal experience in assembling A LOT of furniture at home for our family of six, we take extra care to design the parts for simple assembly at home.
When designing, building and assembling mock-ups, we constantly ask ourselves — what adjustments can we make to simplify assembly for our customers? We’ve conducted many assembly sessions to fine tune the instructions.
Let Tedesco~Rosa enhance your dining experience with a one-of-a-kind walnut and carbon steel dining set.
