Tedesco~Rosa Dining Lab, a Louisville, Kentucky furniture startup producing modern dining furniture, announced its Kickstarter campaign today. The campaign seeks to scale production, to launch nationwide sales and marketing campaigns, and to expand its product portfolio
Tedesco~Rosa handcrafts solid walnut and carbon steel dining tables, chairs, benches and tabletop accessories. Their accessories include a cutting board, cheese and charcuterie board, drink coasters and chopstick holders.
“Our guiding principles are style, strength, sustainability, affordability and locally made. A combination not often found in furniture design,” says Founder Amee Kent. “We aspire to break through the traditional shopping paradigm for those seeking to elevate their own home dining experience.”
Tedesco~Rosa designed, built prototypes and tested them for three years to perfect their products. The company sources premium quality USA materials and partners with reliable, deeply experienced local partners.
A Blend of Italian Curves and Comfort
Tedesco~Rosa furniture blends subtle Italian curves with beautiful lines, solid walnut wood with carbon steel, strength with comfort. The Italian curves are especially seen in the unique steam bent dining chair legs, which are one continuous piece from front to back.
The subtle curves can also be seen in the beveled edge on the table top and bench, U-shaped metal bases for the table and bench, curved chair back, and in the rounded edges of the tabletop accessories.
“During our prototyping work, we focused on differentiating our product based on comfort features. The curved seat alleviates pressure under the back of customers’ knees; a unique handle on the chair back makes for easier movement; adjustable chair feet; and an innovative suspension on the chair back,” adds Founder Greg Kent.
Handcrafted and Sustainable
The Tedesco~Rosa team works with regionally-sourced solid walnut, local metal fabricators, recycled packaging materials and compact, flat packaging. The furniture is easy to assemble at home with just a few simple tools provided in the customer care kit.
“By designing products that can be sourced and handcrafted locally, we eliminate costs associated with outsourcing products overseas while maintaining high quality,” says Amee Kent.
Kickstarter Goals
The Kickstarter campaign will enable Tedesco~Rosa to scale production with its three local small business partners, launch a nationwide sales campaign with wholesale and interior design partners, and use feedback from Kickstarter backers to expand its portfolio
